- Metadata management for scientific data, such as in the medical domain (e.g., clinical and epidemiological studies) and others
- Interface descriptions and exchange formats, such as Object Data Model (ODM) and Interoperable Health Environment (IHE), and their application in different scientific domains
- Scientific OLAP applications including i2b2 and Lens Data Portal (used in the LIFE Data Portal) and their application in Data Sharing scenarios
- Data Sharing applications
- Integration and analysis of geo-referenced data, such as from wearables and environmental sensors
- Data management in Blockchain scenarios
